The Interview Q&A
Where are you primarily based out of?
I am based out of Los Angeles, CA.
What role do you typically play on set?
As a freelance videographer, I typically take on the role of Director, Cinematographer, and Editor. However, my favorite roles to focus on when I’m able to hire a DP, is directing and editing.
How long have you been working in the film industry? Where did you get your start?
About 4 years now. I started my own little production business in Northern California where I grew up, and eventually brought it with me to Los Angeles.
Who is your biggest inspiration? What have they taught you?
My mentor, Dean Cundey, ASC is my biggest inspiration. He has guided me through my journey of filmmaking since 2019, and has continued to teach me the ins and outs of the industry.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
I draw a lot of my inspiration from Rory Kramer. He helps inspire my creativity in the music video and commercial realm.
What’s are some of the biggest things you’ve accomplished in your career so far?
One of my biggest accomplishments was getting the opportunity to edit a short film that my mentor Dean Cundey, ASC, shot with the ISPRA film school students in Toulouse, France. Another would be getting to work on set alongside my mentor on the award winning short film “At Last”.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now? (No dream is too big!)
5 years from now, I would love to be editing feature films!
If you had one piece of advice for a woman who wants to get started in the film industry what it would be?
Collaborate and learn from those around you! I’ve been enjoying trying to work with as many woman as I can, bringing new people on set and building relationships with each person I work with! We have to work together, stick together, and change the industry for the better!
