The Interview Q&A

Where are you primarily based out of?

Phoenix, Arizona

What role do you typically play on set?

Cinematographer, AC, DIT, FAA Certified Drone Pilot

How long have you been working in the film industry? Where did you get your start?

13 years, I started shooting music festivals because my friends were musicians, went on tour a few times, then transitioned into TV then Movies.

Who is your biggest inspiration? What have they taught you?

My biggest inspiration is my mentor, Sean Savage. He filmed every single episode of Game of Thrones as A cam operator. The biggest streamed show in history, one that changed the world of TV forever. Sean teaches me so much all the time but mostly where to put my focus in life and in work opportunities so that I succeed.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

My inspiration comes from most natural light and how light and time work together. Imagine when you're in the forest in the morning and the light beams move through the trees and you can see a haze and bugs in the air, thats what I look for in everything.

What’s are some of the biggest things you’ve accomplished in your career so far?

I have a few shows that I've camera operated on Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV, Showtime. Ive just shot my first feature film in Atlanta last September which im really excited about!

Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now? (No dream is too big!)

In 5 years, I see myself camera operating a Marvel Movie or Marvel series

If you had one piece of advice for a woman who wants to get started in the film industry what it would be?

My advice for women in film is don't give up. This is a vastly male dominated industry and they will always think we are not capable of doing what needs to be done and its not our problem as women to prove ourselves every time. Just work, and if they want to make their days harder by not believing in you then let them.
