“Networking is extremely important. Work hard and always love what you do, no matter what job you have on set. It shows and others will see and feel it too.”

The Interview Q&A

Where are you based out of?

“Winter Park, FL”

What role do you typically play on set?

“Writer/Producer/Director”

How long have you been working in the film industry? Where did you get your start?

“3 years. It started with a gluten free baking show where I highlighted individuals with disabilities, so while we were baking the guest would discuss their diagnosis, their challenges and successes.”

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

“Truly from life. The world around us can be beautiful, painful, exhilarating and exhausting. There's so much to explore and so many people whose voices deserve to be heard.”

What are some of the biggest things you’ve accomplished in your career so far?

“I have had the honor of being a part of many productions. One of the most incredible things, I will never get over, is having a thought in my head, writing it down, having a team of people believe in that story and then watching it on the screen. It's magical. I would say my biggest success has been my most recent short film called Speak. It has gotten a lot of recognition and I have been recognized several times as Best Director at different film festivals.”

Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now? (No dream is too big!)

“Honestly, I don't look ahead 5 years. I am making it happen now. As long as I can continue to make films then I am already living the dream.”

If you had one piece of advice for a woman who wants to get started in the film industry what it would be?

“GET ON SET! I started changing garbage and making coffee. I showed production members I was willing to be helpful in any way possible and once they saw me as an asset I was invited to more and more projects, which led to them trusting me when I was ready to make my own film. Networking is extremely important. Work hard and always love what you do, no matter what job you have on set. It shows and others will see and feel it too.”
