The Interview Q&A
How long have you been working in the film industry? Where did you get your start?
“I've been working since the pandemic started because I told myself to start making my dreams a reality. Opportunities started arising and I've been so blessed ever since to be able to cast with diversity and uniqueness in mind.”
Who is your biggest inspiration? What have they taught you?
“My biggest inspiration is my wife, Taylor- she is the most hardworking person in the room with the best personality. She can make a room light up within seconds and always makes me feel as though my work is needed in this crazy world.”
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
“I draw my inspiration from my past in musical theatre, where I loved to act and put myself in another person's shoes for a bit. I believe being an actress before being a casting director helped me to understand the talent's position and make them relaxed during the casting process. It's important to them that you value their skills and always see what they're made of!”
What are some of the biggest things you’ve accomplished in your career so far?
“I've gotten the unique opportunity to find my passion in this life and cast several different projects before I graduate college in the midst of a global pandemic. I think that's a pretty special accomplishment.”
Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now? (No dream is too big!)
“I see myself as a Casting Director for Disneyland in Anaheim, California!”
If you had one piece of advice for a woman who wants to get started in the film industry what it would be?
“Don't be afraid to jump in! Use your unique background to cultivate your own brand. No one has lived through what you have, so use what's around you and get started!”
